Improving South-South economic relations is one of he largest challenges of the current economic cycle that the Kingdom of Morocco has always been committed to both by speech and tireless efforts of His Majesty the King.
All the projections announce its development and many initiatives reflect its current vitality.
Both the Asian and the African population will grow 1,2 billion, by mid-century. Together, both continents will represent 80% of the global population; 75% of bankable consumers i.e. 3,5 billion and 60% of world GDP. Thus, their additional needs for goods and services will grow and their financial and trade relations will dominate the global economy.
The Islamic Centre for the Development of Trade favoured the development of Bridge programmes between Asia and Africa in cooperation with Indonesia and Malaysia. It is advocated within its recommendations for enhancing trade among the countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. The 2018 Forum comes after the Fes-Meknes CCIS missions in these two countries as well as in Africa to prepare the groundwork.
